Job Description: Applications are invited for the position of Geomatics and GIS data manager. This role will involve the curation and management of the company's GIS and CAD data, and oversight of data standards across all sectors of the company's operations. You will take a lead role in the development and implementation of updated procedures for the management of data deriving from geophysical, topographic and archaeological surveys, including historic building survey and 3D digitisation. You will also take a strategic role in the development of streamlined approaches to field recording and the production of professional-standard cartography and digital mapping.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the post holder will undertake project work related to the delivery of survey projects, providing support and guidance to the fieldwork, geophysics and survey sectors of the company. It is envisaged that this post will be primarily office-based, but occasional site visits and travel for meetings should be expected.
Essential Experience: Demonstrable experience in the management of GIS, CAD and other spatial data is essential. You should be able to demonstrate an ability to work well as part of a team with a varied and demanding workload; experience of project and/or team management is highly desirable. You should have a sound understanding of spatial data structures, standards and management, preferably with experience of this within a heritage context. A high level of IT literacy is essential.
- Thorough knowledge of ESRI products, including the ArcGIS suite
- Experience in AutoCAD and related spatial data/drafting suites
- Experience of database design and management
- Cartography for heritage management
- Geomatics data processing, including 3D data from photogrammetry and laser scanning/LiDAR
- Full, clean driving license
