Senior Research Associate - Cornell Tree Ring LaboratoryThe Department of Classics at Cornell University seeks to appoint a Senior Research Associate concurrently with a position as Senior Lecturer for a one-year renewable term to begin January 1, 2012. The senior research associate position will manage the Cornell Tree Ring Laboratory under the direction and supervision of the Laboratory Director. This entails working on, managing and leading Laboratory research projects and activities. Applicants are sought with a PhD in dendrochronology, experience of dendroarchaeology as well as dendrochronology, experience of dendrochronology, archaeology and palaeoenvironmental research in the Levant, publications in English in scientific journals, and with fluency in Arabic. The Senior Lecturer position is to deliver teaching and teaching support (including lab hours and related activities) to the Classics Department course (CLASS 3090, etc.) as required and as agreed upon by the Department Chair. This represents the equivalent of teaching two courses (i.e. lecture course plus lab component). The appointee will have full access to Cornell's library resources while pursuing his or her research.
