Senior Economist

Scotland, UK

Salary: £25 - 35K

A challenging opportunity for an established Economist with solid experience in a commercial context is available in the expanding environment team in one a leading international environmental consultancy. The role will involve developing our clients Economics capability and the successful candidate will complement and enhance the company's existing tourism and leisure consultancy skills and will pro-actively contribute to the business development of the Scottish business.

The role will offer the opportunity to get involved in high profile projects and input into multi-disciplinary projects will be common place. Further components of the role include:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities;
  • Preparation of Economic project tender bids and reports;
  • Project Management, budget control and Client liaison;
  • Undertaking economic based projects and/or contributing economic inputs to projects eg statistical analysis; survey design, implementation and analysis; financial forecasting; economic appraisals and impact assessments etc;
  • Inputting as required to leisure and tourism tenders and projects.

Applicants should have an Economics Degree (eg B.A./M.A. Economics) - ideally also possessing a Masters level qualification in addition to demonstrable experience in development (travel & leisure) sectors
