Environmental Officer

Unique opportunity for experienced environmental manager with one of the UAE’s premier developers. Reporting to the lead Project Environment Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance throughout the planning, construction and operational phases of projects. One of the company’s objectives is to instill a working culture of sustainability throughout the delivery of a project, which the established team strives for.

Day to day activities will include:

• Carry out environmental inspections and audits of construction projects against relevant standards.
• Raise awareness of environmental management on-site.
• Audit and review sustainability performance targets for each project and contribute to an annual sustainability report.
• Contribute to the development and review of internal environmental procedures, guidelines and systems.
• Implement and report on environmental monitoring programs assessing water, groundwater, air, noise, ecological parameters.
• Assist development and implementation of construction environmental management plans.

Applicants must be educated to degree level, have substantial environmental audit experience related to building, construction and/or infrastructure projects, and hold an environmental auditor accreditation or similar. The ability to liaise at all levels, including construction contractors, regulatory staff and senior management is essential, as is the ability to work within an environmental management system, and a strong understanding of ISO14001.

Fluent English communication and report writing skills are essential, along with experience of working to a rigorous environmental regulatory system.
