Forecasting Analyst

Gloucestershire, UK

Salary: £20 - 25K

A rapidly expanding business of green electricity supply and wind turbine generation requires a forecasting analyst.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing forecasts of the company’s customer demand portfolio which will be used for trading, budgeting and planning. You will have the opportunity to do small trades on the UK’s power exchange and be required to contribute to a wide range of other commercial developments in addition to his or her core area.

Key responsibilities; Forecasting

  • Running portfolio demand forecasts using a software package run which runs a combination of Neural Network and customer profiling techniques.
  • Responsible for achieving a high level of demand forecast accuracy, and assessing the importance of forecast input parameters, and ensuring all aspects of the portfolio are accounted for.
  • Liaising with Retail to reconcile customer base numbers and working with Sales and Marketing to establish portfolio growth figures for forecasting.
  • Producing forecasts by various demographics, as required by the Trading and Hedging Strategy, to manage power and green certificate portfolios and for input to Energy Trading Risk Management Tools.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding numeracy skills, strong analytical & statistical skills, have an ability to solve problems and deal with deal with large volumes of data. Educated to degree level in a Mathematical, Scientific or Technical discipline.

Prior knowledge of the Electricity Industry would be advantageous as will experience of building and querying databases, and computer modelling
