Senior Electrical Engineer - Team Leader Nuclear & Power

Salary: £35 - 45K

The role is based within the ME&E team in the Glasgow office working on various nuclear and power business group projects. Responsible for electrical design, PID’s, PFD’s, control philosophy writing, controls interface design and specification writing, internal and external lighting design, HV & LV system design.

The principal function of this position is to design the Electrical components of any given project. The principal duties will be:

• to design electrical systems
• Lighting design
• to design cable routes and systems
• to design ELV, LV and HV systems
• to design and specify control panel interface systems
• to assist with the other senior engineers

Relationship management is vital in this role. The person will be directly responsible to the senior engineer in various roles. A strong team player is vital to ensure smooth integration of skills and delivery of a busy project load

The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. These points should align with the key areas of responsibility:

• Knowledge of nuclear industry design procedures
• Knowledge of Electrical design principles
• Knowledge of control panel design
• Knowledge of PID drawing design
• Organised and systematic
• Good team player with an ‘easy to get on with’ personality
• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet peaks and troughs in work load
• It is expected this person will lead a team and hence will require significant leadership skills and experience

Minimum qualifications for this role will be BSc or BEng, however it is anticipated that a Chartered engineer with a demonstrable track record within the nuclear & power sector would be more suited.
