Offshore Structural Engineer

Our Client has an opening for a Structural Engineer to work within the
company’s Offshore Group. The Group offers a multi-disciplinary engineering
service to all sectors of the offshore wind industry and is growing in response
to market demand. The individual in this post can expect to have involvement in
a wide range of offshore wind farm structural design and frequent travel within
Europe and, on occasion, worldwide.
The role will involve:
- Structure concept evaluation and selection
- Loads derivation from basic meteorological and metocean data
- Detailed structure analysis and design for in-service and temporary
conditions
- Geotechnical and soil-structure interaction design
- Design Basis and Specification preparation
- Study reporting
The ideal Candidate would ideally have:
- A good degree in structural, civil or mechanical engineering (or related
disciplines)
- At least three years’ professional experience in structural design and
analysis
- good organizational and communication skills and be able to work within a
multi-disciplinary team of engineers
In addition, the candidate will ideally offer at least one of the
following:
- experience in offshore wind structures
- experience in other types of marine structures
- familiarity with the relevant approaches, software and codes of practice
to be applied in the design and analysis of offshore wind turbine support
structures and foundations
- Chartered / Professional Engineer status
