Principal Renewable Electrical Engineer

Our Client has an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer with
extensive experience of construction site work and preferably with knowledge of
wind farm electrical infrastructure, plant, construction practice and
commissioning methodology.
The successful candidate will work on a large ongoing project located south
of Glasgow, spending an average of 50% of their time on site representing the
interests of the client.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Liasing with the electrical contractor and client in relation to all
aspects of the electrical infrastructure Works
- Routine and ad-hoc inspection of power distribution plant and cabling at
400V, 690V and 33,000 volts
- Routine and ad-hoc inspection of PLC / SCADA plant and control fibre
installations
- Monitoring electrical installation, testing & commissioning work by the
contractor
- Witnessing testing by the contractor and validating that the installation
meets the contract specifications and good industry standards
- Reviewing installation and commissioning documentation
- Ensuring that test records are correct and appropriate to the plant
specifications
The ideal candidate will have a First Degree in Electrical Engineering and a
second degree.
The candidate will be familiar with site work and be capable of ensuring that
all specified requirements of the project are met and be able to demonstrate a
clear understanding of current health and safety requirements. You will exhibit
flexibility in working arrangements and when you are not on site you will be
required and able to contribute to product development producing generic
contract specifications & documents, supporting preparation of proposals and
design work in one of our offices. You will be required to have (or willing to
train towards) a supervisor level CSCS card.
