Position Summary
Our client is currently seeking a CR Consultant to actively contribute to the
growing corporate social responsibility work, team and other sustainability
projects. They have extensive experience of working closely with major
international companies and public agencies to integrate social, environmental
and ethical responsibility into their mainstream business.
This position will entail management of a wide range of projects as well as
contributing to business development and marketing activities. This work is
anticipated to be primarily on a national scale.
This is a growing area of business with opportunities for helping our key
clients manage, perform and reporting on their performance against a broad range
of ‘non-financial’ risks. The existing team includes consultants with economic,
social and environmental skills and experience. This position is required to
strengthen the team’s capability and to support the development of growing
services particularly with corporates.
Responsibilities/Objectives
The jobholder will be expected to contribute to:
- The positioning of the company as a key player in the Corporate
Responsibility market in the UK
- The corporate responsibility network in the UK and also specifically the
local team
Main Responsibilities
- Project Manager for corporate responsibility projects, including:
- Assessing non-financial risks and impacts
- Engaging stakeholders and analyzing issues
- Developing integrated management systems and reporting
- Business development, including:
- Assisting in building the Corporate Responsibility Service line's network
of potential clients through external and internal networking
- Participating in meetings with prospective clients as requested / required
by Service Line Leaders
- Proposal development.
- Supporting marketing and brand development through raising awareness of
capabilities both externally and internally to support key clients and
colleagues, e.g. presentations, publishing articles
- Ensuring technical, quality and financial aspects of projects are well
managed to deliver effective solutions and ensure client satisfaction.
Reporting relationships
- Reporting to Senior/Principal Consultant
- Managing staff on projects
Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Attributes
Qualifications
- BSc environmental management or corporate related; MSc advantage
Overall Skills
- Project management
- Excellent verbal and written communications with internal team members and
external clients
Key Knowledge required for role
- An understanding of developing sustainability risk, strategy, governance,
management and performance and awareness of standards and best practice, in
sustainability
- An understanding of the key drivers and developments in social, economic
and environmental sustainability affecting companies internationally
- An understanding of the technical issues associated with stakeholder
engagement and sustainability management
- An understanding of the financial impact of corporate responsibility and
sustainability issues
Key Personal Attributes required for role
- Excellent inter-personal communication
- Excellent written and verbal skills (in English); fluency in other
languages an advantage
- Strong quality, financial and time management skills
- Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative

Key Skills and experience required for role:
- A demonstrated track record in writing proposals, delivering projects and
managing clients
- Task management and technical delivery in research and report writing
(including web based research);
- Practical experience in quality management development or related fields
would be an advantage;
- Commercial awareness for business development, marketing, and proposal
preparation;
- Excellent verbal and written communications with internal team members and
external clients.
