Brownfield Engineer
West Midlands
£27 - £33K

Due to our clients expansion within brownfield assessment and remediation, involving some of the UK’s largest land development projects, the geotechnics team are seeking to strengthen the geo-environmental resources in the West Midlands.

The requirement is for a brownfield engineer to join an integrated team of 4 geotechnical and contaminated land specialists, which investigates and designs remediation of derelict land for infrastructure and development.

Priorities in this role will include:

- working on projects involving the reclamation of derelict and contaminated sites
- being involved in the specification of ground investigations and their interpretation
- preparing risk assessments
- reporting for clients and regulatory agencies and the design of remediation
- preparation of technical reports as necessary

The successful candidate should possess a first degree in civil engineering, environmental science or closely related discipline or equivalent and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:

- good communication skills both written and verbal
- be familiar with the wider development process and be comfortable with working with developers to achieve their objectives
- knowledge of the tools of contaminated land and groundwater risk assessment and have a good - working knowledge of current legislation and EA procedures
- proven record of designing, procuring and reporting on contaminated land investigations for clients and regulators
- be familiar with geotechnical design software
