Job Description
Principal Environmental Scientist (EIA)
Chester
£35 - £45K + Benefits

To manage the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments for major Government and Industry Projects in the North West.

Key Duties:

- Accountable for tracking and evaluating budgets and reporting in income and expenditure
- Maintain client relationships on daily basis
- Involvement in business development/proposal preparation in the area of expertise/interest
- Responsible for managing EIA team members, allocating tasks or duties, ensuring team working effectively and quality control of outputs
- Setting clear performance expectations from more junior professionals and providing coaching, motivation and support, to achieve performance standards


Requirements

- Environmental related degree essential
- Full membership of CIWEM, IEEM or IEMA or equivalent Chartered (or very close to chartered) status
- Masters (or equivalent) in Environmental related subject desirable
IEMA Registered EIA Practitioner desirable

Background and experience:

- Excellent grounding in EIA and SEA preferably in relation to flood/coastal management, water utility or energy projects
- Project/financial management experience
- Experience of proposal preparation and/or other business development experience
- Ideally you will have knowledge of the management of PSC contracts is desirable, as is a working knowledge of Pollution Prevention and Control and/or town planning and landscape assessment
