Mining Engineer

As Principal Mining Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the
application of the highest professional standards in all aspects of
providing top quality consultancy services to clients. You will be working
on project reviews involving the full range of mine design, production
planning, and economic evaluations. You will work on projects involving all
types of commodities, mining methods and systems, and in all geographic
regions. You will be responsible for mentoring and developing department
staff through job training and work experience.
This team is an international consultancy offering project development
expertise to the mining industry world wide. You will also be working in a
collaborative team environment with professional geologists, metallurgists,
environmental scientists, and other senior scientists to provide
comprehensive technical support and advice to clients.
The ideal applicant will have a first degree in Mining Engineering and be
a Chartered or Professional Engineer (licensed by an internationally
recognised professional body).
You will be highly experienced in the mining industry, preferably
including both open pit and underground operations. You should have recent
consultancy experience and have a proven background in leading other
engineers. Experience in production engineering, life of mine planning and
design, economic evaluations, budgeting, operations supervision and ideally
new project development would also be a distinct advantage. Highly competent
in preparation of reports, project due diligence evaluations and feasibility
studies will be an asset.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with
strong analytical skills are a must and engineering experience including
business development and client liaison roles will be a significant
advantage.
The position will be based in the UK; however, regular international
travel will be required. Secondary language skills beyond English will be an
asset.
