This leading environmental global consultancy seeks an
Ecologist to work within the Water & Environmental Management division. The
ecological services team there is growing rapidly in response to demand from
clients in the water and planning sectors.
Our Client provides services that cover both surveys and
assessments of impacts of infrastructure development. They are therefore seeking
to recruit an ecologist to undertake ecological surveys and assessments,
particularly of designated protected species.
You will have opportunities for involvement in a diversity of
environmental projects, project management and business development. There will
be scope for career development in the broad area of their environmental
business, in the UK or other countries.
The position will involve work such as:

Ecological and protected species surveys and assessments

Extended Phase I ecological assessments
-
Report and proposal writing
-
Project management
The successful candidate will have:
-
A BSc degree with a minimum 2.1 in ecology, environmental
biology or similar
-
Field ecological experience
-
A sound understanding of UK nature conservation
legislation, regulation and administration
-
Excellent field skills
-
Protected species licences would be an advantage
-
A demonstrable personal commitment to nature conservation,
such as active membership of a wildlife trust
-
High standards of written and oral communication and IT
skills
-
Driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the
UK, and occasionally overseas, in accordance with the needs of projects and
clients
Salary is dependent upon skills and qualifications, with
