Arboricultural Team Leader

Salary - £30 - 35K+

Our Client is a leading independent tree focused consultancy of foresters, arboriculturists, and ecologists. They work in all fields relating to trees and woodlands, on projects ranging from small residential schemes to multi-million pound developments. Following a sustained period of growth they are now looking for an experienced consultant to lead the arboricultural team.

Within this role you will be expected to:

  • Lead & manage the arboriculture team; assigning tasks & ensuring the quality of discharged work.

  • Develop the arboriculture business in line with business plan & contribute to the overall business strategy with the Board.

  • Assist in giving advice on wide range of tree related tasks providing high levels of service to clients.

  • Work internally with foresters, arboriculturists, CAD technicians and ecologists and liaise with developers, architects, landowners, land agents, environmental consultancies and local government externally.

Experience and Skills:

You should be Professional Member (ideally a Fellow) of the Arboricultural Association and have aspirations to develop into Registered Consultancy status. You will ideally have a good honours degree in arboriculture, RFS Professional Diploma in Arboriculture or equivalent.

You will have achieved significant & demonstrable levels of technical competence in all areas of arboriculture & its relevant areas including:

  • Extensive knowledge & experience regarding tree inspection for varying purposes including condition, management, value, safety.

  • Pests, diseases and disorders that affect trees.

  • Use and limitations of decay detection equipment.

  • The planning system and legal framework for trees.

  • Trees within the built environment; rural landscape & within the development context.

  • Map and plan interpretation and drafting.

You should have a strong commercial awareness and keen desire to develop & grow the business in line with our Client’s ethics & values. This role offers an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to influence the development of a growing team and become a focal point for initiatives.
