A competent Environmental Health officer is
required to join our Environmental Health and Trading Standards division on a
contract period. This position is due to start asap until the end of August.
You must have experience with a range of
Environmental Heath issues, as your role will be across all environmental
groups depending on day to day requirements. More specifically, experience in
statutory nuisance investigations, refuse complaints, drainage problems,
licensing of animal boarding and breeding establishments are required.
Other responsibilities within this post will
include:
- Producing relevant correspondence; prepare
and serve notices; check compliance with relevant requirements and act as a
witness in Court proceedings.
- Sign legal notices and other similar
documents as may be required.
- Procure samples of food, water and other
substances for analysis.
- Provide advisory, supervisory and training
functions in respect of less experienced officers.
- Prepare reports with recommendations as
necessary.
- Liaise with external organisations and
agencies; attend meetings as appropriate and advise senior management of
such discussions.
