Senior Professional Officer grade C - REF 10377
$83,187 - $89,828 AUD per annum plus an additional 15.4% superannuation
3 year opportunity
Under general direction of senior scientists, undertake research into the development and evaluation of ensemble prediction systems within the Australian Community Climate and Earth Systems Simulator (ACCESS) numerical assimilation and prediction systems. This work is to support the ongoing development and use of probabilistic prediction capabilities, thereby providing estimates of prediction uncertainty in Bureau forecasts.

3 year opportunity
Under limited direction from senior scientists in the Data Assimilation Team and CAWCR undertake research on extensions to the ACCESS assimilation systems. This research will focus on the use and assimilation of remotely sensed land surface data and other measurements from current and scheduled meteorological satellites.
Professional Officer Class 2 - REF 10263
$66,504 - $74,542 AUD per annum plus an additional 15.4% superannuation
2 year opportunity
Under general direction of senior scientists in the Data Assimilation Team and CAWCR undertake research on extensions to the ACCESS assimilation systems. This research will focus on the use and assimilation of remotely sensed microwave measurements from current and scheduled meteorological satellites.
Early career researchers with appropriate meteorological and/or physics knowledge and training are encouraged to apply for this position.

Mandatory qualifications:
Senior Professional Officer Grade C & Professional Officer Class 2; a degree or diploma of an Australian institute, or a comparable overseas qualification, which is appropriate to the duties; OR other comparable qualifications, which are appropriate to the duties.
