The Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research (BCCR; http://www.bjerknes.uib.no/) is a joint climate research venture between the University of Bergen (UiB), the Institute of Marine Research (IMR) and the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (NERSC). The BCCR integrates observationalists and modellers in a concerted interdisciplinary research effort. The BCCR comprises the largest climate research group in Norway and has the status of national Center of Excellence. The BCCR´s Secretariat is as unit of Unifob AS (http://www.unifob.uib.no/).

New Positions in Regional Climate Modeling


The Bjerknes Centre will in addition to its activities in global Earth System Modelling develop a group with focus on regional climate change with emphasis on regional climate modelling. We have two open positions in this group:

  1. DYNAMICAL DOWNSCALING OF CLIMATE MODEL RESULTS (08-3101)
  2. HYDROLOGY AND REGIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE (08-3102)

Both posts are 3-year research scientist / postdoctoral positions.

RESEARCH FELLOWS (PhD POSITIONS)

Two 3-year positions as Research Fellow (PhD positions) are available at the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research (BCCR)/Department of Earth Science, the place of work being at BCCR.

The PhD-scholars will participate in the project AMOCINT's international research activities by conducting analyzes (stable isotope geochemistry/foraminiferal counts/lithic and sedimentological studies) on new and existing core material within the AMOCINT framework.
