About ClimateCare

ClimateCare is one of the oldest and most respected organisations in the carbon market. We were founded in 1997 and pioneered the development of the voluntary carbon market. The business was purchased by J.P. Morgan in 2008 and became part of the Global Commodities team.

We have recently undergone a Management Buy-Out - and are operating as an independent 'profit for purpose' or 'social enterprise' entity again. We continue to uphold the highest standards for quality and credibility and pursue best practice at all times as a foundation to our business.

ClimateCare has been actively involved through every stage of the carbon life-cycle over the last decade: from the launch of the first Gold Standard efficient cook-stove project to initiatives that convert waste sugar cane into clean renewable power, through trading and risk management, to full service client management. Today we run many of the world's largest corporate carbon offset programmes.

From our offices in Oxford and Nairobi, Kenya, our small team of world leading experts develop and consult on innovative Emission Reduction Projects globally - with a focus on Sub Saharan Africa and the Least Developed Countries (LDCs). These projects sit on the emerging nexus between private sector finance and the climate/development/aid sectors, (for example: we are now at the forefront of developing carbon credits from projects that distribute clean water across Sub-Saharan Africa). Our projects demonstrate how both Climate and Development goals/outcomes can be achieved at scale, whilst returning profits commensurate with, or in excess of, normal private sector returns.

ClimateCare has been delivering emission reduction projects on the ground in LDCs for the last 14 years which has given us best in class project selection, efficiency and risk mitigation capabilities. This, together with a proprietary Delivery Risk Mechanism for assessing project viability, means we can deploy investment funds rapidly and efficiently to achieve the twin aims of profit and social development - positively impacting the UN's Millennium Development Goals.

Remuneration
