Post-Doctoral Position in Large-scale Atmospheric Dynamics and Numerical Modelling
Meteorology institute at the University of Hamburg invites applications for a post-doctoral position in large-scale atmospheric dynamics and numerical modelling.
This is a three-year position that prepares scholars for academic positions involving teaching and research.
The successful candidate will join the theoretical meteorology group to work on modelling the large-scale dynamics and predictability. The successful application will combine novel diagnostic methods and numerical models of different complexity to analyze spatio-temporal variability of the climate system. The position includes up to 4 teaching hours per week.
A university degree in a relevant subject plus doctorate. The PhD degree can be in atmospheric science, physical oceanography, physics, applied mathematics or a related field. Candidates are expected to have an appropriate track record of communicating research results, strong computational skills, and a high level of independence and creativity.
