Research associates may pursue independent research and further academic qualifications outside regular working hours. Specific Duties The project "Earth System Reanalysis" will develop a novel adjoint climate-assimilation framework and will apply it in a pilotsetting for improving climate change information over seasonal to interanual time scales. As part of this eff ort, candidates willbe involved in the advancement of an ESM coupled adjoint climate modeling and parameter optimization framework in thecontext of a first pilot Earth system reanalysis. Potential to use project results in the context of a habilitation or any othercareer development. Requirements A university degree in a relevant fi eld plus doctorate.
