The Atmospheric Science Program at Indiana University is accepting applications for 3-4 fully-funded graduate studentships (M.S. or Ph.D.) for admission in Fall 2012. Funding includes a stipend, fees and health insurance in exchange for 20 hours a week working either as a research or a teaching assistant during the semesters.

1. Climate downscaling (Pryor (email: spryor@indiana.edu), Robeson (email: srobeson@indiana.edu)).
2. Biogeochemical cycling/atmosphere-surface exchange. (Dragoni (email: ddragoni@indiana.edu), Pryor (email: spryor@indiana.edu), Rahman (email: farahman@indiana.edu)).
3. Boundary-layer and wind power meteorology (Barthelmie (email: rbarthel@indiana.edu), Pryor (email: spryor@indiana.edu)).

We have excellent facilities for experimental research including an AmeriFlux tower, and remote sensing systems (including lidars) plus the standard suite of meteorological instrumentation. We offer outstanding laboratory and office facilities and world-class computational resources for research in remote sensing, GIS, and spatial statistics. We are running WRF for a range of research applications.

Applications are encouraged from numerate students from any scientific background but are especially welcome from atmospheric science, engineering or computing. The application deadline is 15 February 2012 but fellowships and funding for visiting Indiana University in Bloomington will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis from January 15 2012.
