NIWA is strengthening its capability to meet the significant increase in demand for short, medium, and long term weather and climate forecasting to the public and industry. This is an exciting opportunity to join New Zealand's internationally renowned climate research and forecasting organisation.

The purpose of these appointments is to enhance the marketing and delivery of meteorological and climate forecasting products and services. A major emphasis will be on contributing to the development, communication, marketing and deployment of environmental forecasting services and products for weather-sensitive clients, particularly in the local government, agricultural and commercial sectors.

Candidates would be expected to have a tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in mathematics, atmospheric science, engineering or environmental science, as well as excellent communication skills. Training in weather forecasting would be an advantage.
