Senior Researcher - Paleoclimate Modelling

Research on paleoclimates is one of CEED core activities. Researchers in the "Dynamic Earth" and "Earth Crises" groups aim to understand the interactions between solid earth carbon degassing in continental and oceanic areas and the resulting atmospheric and biospheric impacts, on a range of temporal scales

We call upon a researcher at senior level who is able to do cutting edge research within at least one of the following fields:

  1. state of the art, intermediate to high complexity climate modelling,
  2. biogeochemical cycle modelling with an emphasis on atmospheric changes, including carbon (CO2, CH4, fluxes, isotopes), nitrogen and reactive species.

The position will bridge the current gap between the on-going plate tectonic modelling and the proxy data and degassing studies. The focus of the position will primarily be on Cenozoic and pre-Cenozoic systems, but other epochs can also be considered. Documented experience with climatic proxy data and pCO2 reconstructions over geological time scales is an advantage.

Application deadline: 15 August 2013
