Research Associate on Atmospheric Aerosols (2021)

The successful applicant will be directly involved in the operation and maintenance of infrastructure purchased through the CFI grant "The Canadian Aerosol Research Network (CARN)". Infrastructure to be operated and maintained include the following:

• Aerodyne high resolution time of flight aerosol mass spectrometer
• Particle sizing equipment
• Gas analyzers

Requirements

• A Ph.D. in chemistry or related field
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• At least 3 years experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting time-of-flight mass spectrometers
• At least 3 years experience developing or improving ionization sources for mass spectrometers
• In-depth understanding of physical principles limiting performance of time-of-flight mass spectrometers and ionization source
• At least 2 years experience writing and maintaining Labview data acquisition software
• At least 2 years relevant postdoctoral or industrial experience
• At least 1 year experience operating an Aerodyne high resolution time of flight aerosol mass spectrometer

This appointment will be for one year.
