Postdoctoral positions in Regional Climate Change Impacts at UCLAUCLA Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences seeks two postdoctoral scholars for a project examining impacts of climate change on Southern California. The positions-available immediately-are initially for one year and renewable for up to two years. The project is led by Prof. Alex Hall. Its principal themes involve simulated and observed regional climate variability, regional response to climate change scenarios, and impacts of climate change on natural resources and human institutions. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences or a related field. Effective oral and written communication skills and strong analytical skills are also essential. Experience in at least one of the following areas is also highly desirable: (1) developing or running global or regional numerical models, especially WRF, (2) statistical downscaling of global climate model output, or (3) analysis of climate variability, climate change, or climate change impacts. Applications may wish to consult Prof. Hall's web site for further information about his group's research activities (http://www.atmos.ucla.edu/csrl/). Applicants should submit a brief statement of research interests and goals, and a complete CV, including contact information for three references, to Prof. Alex Hall (alexhall@atmos.ucla.edu).
