Junior to Mid-Level Scientist (f/m): Geoscience

Subsurface Insights ( is an applied geoscience research company headquartered in the USA in Hanover, NH. Subsurface Insights develops hardware and cloud based software for autonomous subsurface monitoring.

Subsurface Insights has an immediate opening for a junior to mid-level scientist (f/m) with strong skills in geoscience software development. He/she will support and strengthen our ongoing efforts and projects, and will also be expected to actively participate in defining and implementing future applied research directions in collaboration with academia, national laboratories and industry.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in participating in collaborative geoscience software development and strong Unix/Linux and Python skills. Areas of expertise could include but are not limited to database development, model automation, coupled surface/subsurface modeling, web based GIS and automation of data analysis.

This is a full time position, but there is a possibility for part time work (20-30 hours/week). While candidates are welcome to relocate to Hanover, NH, this position can be performed remotely from anywhere in the USA.

Candidates with both Bachelors, Masters or PhD degrees are encouraged to apply. We specifically invite applicants who have been or are active participants in NSF funded geoscience software efforts (for instance CSDMS, ODM2, Hydroshare as well as general Earthcube related projects).
