Professor in Computing Science


The Professor in Computing Science will be recognized as the leading authority in Computing Science and will demonstrate expertise and leadership while working with undergraduate and postgraduate students, internal and external research groups, relevant businesses, Government and Non Government/Not for Profit organizations. The Professor in Computing Science will be situated in the School of Computing, Information and Mathematical Sciences and Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment.

Qualifications: PhD and evidence of outstanding contribution to teaching and/or research and/or scholarship.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Software Engineering, Net Centric Computing, Database Management Systems
  • Project management and project management systems
  • Extensive teaching experience including distance and flexible education modes
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, teaching and supervising undergraduate and post graduate University students
  • Experience working and teaching in a multi cultural environment
  • Strong original research background and ability to lead research and consultancies.
  • Appropriate practical experience within the industry would be an advantage

Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer in Computing Science


The Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer in Computing Science will be seen as a leading academic demonstrating discipline expertise and leadership while working with undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as internal and external research groups and completed consultancies.

These positions in Computing Science will be in the School of Computing, Information and Mathematical Sciences and Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment.

Qualifications:

Associate Professor - PhD and evidence of academic excellence by an outstanding contribution to teaching and/or research and/or scholarship.

Senior Lecturer - PhD and either formal tertiary teaching qualifications and significant teaching experience or global expertise in the discipline.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

The Associate Professor in Information Systems will be seen as a leading academic demonstrating discipline expertise and leadership while working with undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as internal and external research groups and completed consultancies.

The Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Information Systems will deliver academic services for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as support internal and external research projects and consultancies.

These positions will be in the School of Computing, Information and Mathematical Sciences and Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment.

Qualifications:

Associate Professor - PhD and evidence of academic excellence by an outstanding contribution to teaching and/or research and/or scholarship.

Senior Lecturer - PhD and either formal tertiary teaching qualifications and significant teaching experience or global expertise in the discipline.

Lecturer - PhD and either formal tertiary teaching qualifications and some teaching experience or a master's degree with formal tertiary teaching qualifications and significant teaching experience or significant relevant industry experience.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience to include Database Management, Project Management and Systems Analysis and Design
  • Extensive teaching experience including distance and flexible education modes
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate and post graduate University students
  • Experience in the supervision of post graduate research projects
  • Strong original research background and ability to lead research and consultancies.
  • Appropriate practical experience within the industry would be an advantage
  • Experience working and teaching in a multi cultural environment.

Lecturer or Assistant Lecturer in Surveying / Geomatics


The Lecturer / Assistant Lecturer in Surveying/Geomatics will deliver academic services for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Surveying and Geomatics, as well as support related internal and external research projects and consultancies. These positions will be in the Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment, School of Islands and Oceans.

Qualifications:

Lecturer: PhD and either formal tertiary teaching qualifications and some teaching experience or a master's degree with formal tertiary teaching qualifications and significant teaching experience or significant relevant industry experience.

Assistant Lecturer: Master's degree and either a formal tertiary teaching qualifications or some teaching experience.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Qualifications (preferred) leading to a professional certification as a Registered Surveyor, Chartered Surveyor, Licensed Surveyor of equivalent
  • Tertiary teaching experience in relevant institutions
  • Demonstrated record of publications and experience or aptitude for research
  • Background in geodetic, engineering or hydrographic surveying
  • Experience with GPS, total stations, echo sounders, data processing and CADD software an advantage.
  • High level computer proficiency is essential.
