and so on to the requirements for this role. I have put these down in a formal
way as l think it reflects our client’s work ethic, friendly, professional and
detailed.
The successful candidate will need to have gained the
following commercial and education experience/accreditation to be considered
for this role:
You will be working closely within an existing team of
full-time ecologists in the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful
applicant to manage and develop our client’s ecological business in the north
east of England from their offices in Newcastle.
You will be responsible for managing and undertaking a wide
variety of ecological projects, maintaining and developing a diverse client
base in the north of England and the management of a well-established team of
ecologists.
The role will include:

Directing and managing more junior staff to ensure
project objectives are achieved;

Managing project programmes, resources and budgets to
ensure projects are delivered to client’s requirements.

Liaise with and presenting technical information to other
similar professionals and clients.

Manage client relationships and development.

Develop new and existing business opportunities.
As you would expect you will have sound field skills
covering a range of taxa, preferably with specialist knowledge of particular
species/species groups;
Good knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation;
demonstrable experience in EcIA/EIA and ecological mitigation projects; sound
project management skills. Good IT skills and a full driving licence.
In order to be considered you will need to have attainted a
relevant degree.
Further qualification and membership of an appropriate
professional body, such as IEEM or SocEnv is desirable, but not essential.
