Senior Air Quality
Consultant
Southampton, Croydon,
Bristol, Cardiff, UK
Salary: £30 - 35K+
Vacancy Details
I hope you enjoy working for our client as much as we do.
Having worked with them since 2005, they are a great company to deal with.
Even though they are one of the largest providers of environmental and
engineering services in Europe, each office is run like a small business and
this definitely reflects in the way people interact with each other and the
way they approach their project work. This natural and friendly approach is
definitely one of the reasons for their success. Well enough of my ramblings
and so on to the requirements for this role. I have put these down in a formal
way as l think it reflects our client’s work ethic, friendly, professional and
detailed.
They are looking for an enthusiastic individual to
introduce air quality/odour skills by building upon the existing related
disciplines and sources of noise work already established. Initially you will
receive support and will be working directly with the established 6 people
strong air quality teams in the Leicester or Manchester offices, however the
aim of the position will be to grow the air/odour skills locally. The majority
of projects will be development related both environmental assessments (using
ADMS, DMRB, WebTAG) and source assessments (Odour Modelling, IPPC). The role
will initially include all aspects of these projects such as monitoring,
modelling, assessment, design, financial accountability and project management
with the possibility of some technical support for monitoring. You will also
need to have the ability to undertake the majority of the above types of
projects including the use of equipment, models and report writing.
Organisational and motivation skills will be imperative to
enable you to work effectively and efficiently remotely from the rest of the
team. Excellent communication skills are required, both written and verbal,
together with the ability to network with both clients and colleagues.
As you would expect a relevant degree and membership of an
appropriate professional institution is required.
The successful candidate will need to have a proven
relevant experience in undertaking the majority of the above types of projects
together with a keen understanding of the UK planning system and an ability to
successfully liaise between the clients needs and local authority or
regulatory authorities. Additional successful experience in an environmental
consultancy or as an expert witness will be advantageous. Similarly,
experience in related disciplines such as noise, vibration or light assessment
will be advantageous.
As l previously mentioned our client offers a friendly and
relaxed working environment. A competitive salary is available, which includes
a pension and life assurance scheme together with a range of
benefits/incentives. An on going training program is available for your future
professional development.
