engineering services in Europe, each office is run like a small business and

and so on to the requirements for this role. I have put these down in a formal
way as l think it reflects our client’s work ethic, friendly, professional and
detailed.
As part of their expansion plans they now require a
Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their ground technologies division
based in Leeds. It’s a busy team in a vibrant office with plenty of scope for
career development.
This diverse role will see you carrying out the
following the following:

Carry out geotechnical design tasks such as slope
stability analysis, earth retaining structures, pile design, foundation
parameters and retaining wall design etc.

Project Management
-
Mentor and train more junior staff
-
Communicate effectively with clients and contactors
-
Compile factual and interpretative reports
-
Compile earthworks specifications
-
Finite Element Analysis
The following skills are essential:
-
Able to log both soil and rock to BS 5930
-
Scheduling and testing to BS1377
-
Able to work to budget and timescales
You will need to have gained the following
qualifications/experience:
Graduate engineers qualified to BSc (Hons) in Geology, B
Eng Civil Engineering or relevant environmental discipline. Preferably an MSc
in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering
As you would expect you will need to have the following
personal qualities:

An ambitious team player with the ability to work on your
own or within a team

Desk studies

Site investigation
-
Logging soils and rocks to BS5930
-
Lab test scheduling
-
SI design and management in the UK,
-
Contaminated Land/Brownfield investigations and
remediation experience would be preferable
-
Interpretative reporting,
-
Financial control of projects
-
Monitoring protocols
-
Sampling protocols
-
Slope Stability Analysis
-
Use or knowledge of Holebase III
-
Use of knowledge of FE Packages, SlopeW, WALLOP etc
-
