Even though they are one of the largest providers of environmental and
engineering services in Europe, each office is run like a small business and
this definitely reflects in the way people interact with each other and the
way they approach their project work. This natural and friendly approach is
definitely one of the reasons for their success. Well enough of my ramblings
and so on to the requirements for this role. I have put these down in a formal
way as l think it reflects our client’s work ethic, friendly, professional and
detailed.
As part of their expansion plans they now require a
Principal Contaminated Land Consultant who will be responsible for the design,
supervision, reporting and management of Geo-Environmental Phase 1 and Phase 2
site investigations;
Knowledge of human health and groundwater risk assessment
to include the CLEA framework and P20 methodologies; Knowledge of CDM
regulations and the preparation of Health and Safety plans for site works;
Proposal writing and financial control of projects; Ability and willingness to
assist with client liaison and business development.
As you would expect of such a senior role you will have
excellent communication skills, including the ability to negotiate with
Environmental Health Officers and the Environmental Agency.
You will also need to be qualified to BSc (Hons) level
within a relevant Environmental/Engineering discipline, although the
possession of a relevant higher degree is an advantage.
Geotechnical knowledge and demonstrable experience of the
interface of contaminated land with the wider development issues of Brownfield
sites.
