The Company


A large independent Oil and gas company with significant North Sea operations as well as other assets further afield. They are growing rapidly and have an expertise in exploiting what were previously thought marginal fields to their full potential. They achieve this through innovation. They h ave a large Aberdeen office and an excellent reputation locally.


The Role


You will provide geoscientific expertise and support new field development opportunities from the company's UKCS assets. In addition you will provide support to the Exploration group to evaluate acquisition opportunities as well as overseeing the non-operated portfolio.
You will be involved with assessment of field structural frameworks, reservoir characterisation, and volume estimates. Because this is a senior role you will also mentor and coach junior members of the team and play a pivotal role in the team when they are acquiring assets.


Experience Required


You must have a minimum of ten years with a strong technical geophysics background gained in either an operator or consultancy. You should have strong seismic reservoir characterisation, seismic interpretation and static geological model construction skills
You should have a good exploration track record and be experienced in field development planning.

You should also have appropriate experience in appropriate software packages (ideally Seisworks, Petrel)

This is also the type of role where you have to make judgement calls where information may not be complete and data may be patchy, a doer with convictions to make decisions is what is required here.
