A leading operator in Aberdeen, they also have offices around the world. They are well known and have significant North Sea assets. They have made a long term commitment to their UKCS assets as well as their Aberdeen office.

The Role

Your role will involve the the provision of well d esign, planning, programming operations and measurement management, in accordance with the well planning process and drilling management system (DMS), in order to ensure technical integrity.
It is also important that you developing and promoting techniques and strategies that optimise asset value as well as leading, mentoring and supervising the team of drilling engineers.

Some of the other aspects of the role are detailed below.

-Manage drilling engineering team to bring wells to an appropriate state of readiness to facilitate rig selection and well allocation.

- Ensure well designs and drilling programmes are planned in conjunction with MONS policies and standards, using relevant standards and guidelines

-Ensure compliance with the well planning process.

-Development of appropriate specifications for procurement of equipment and services.

-Prepare permits and applications to statutory bodies to conform with local governmental and other agency requirements.

-Prepare well cost estimates and AFEs. Monitor field costs and analyse variances.

-Monitor and measure performance against expectations. Analyse variances and act as a focal point for lessons learned.

-Coordinate and liaise with other disciplines on well issues and coordinate service company support.



Experience Required

You should be degree educated and ideally also have a masters degree. You should have a minimum ten years experience as a drilling engineer, some of which would have been gained in a team leadership or management capacity. Ideally you will have previously worked for another operator in the North Sea.
