This company is an oil and gas exploration and production company which has interests in the North Sea, West Africa, Middle East and Asia. They are independent, with a strong balance sheet, and are seeking to grow through organic production growth, high impact exploration, and acquisitions in the areas they know well. Since 2004 they have made massive amounts of progress in terms of the size of the company and now they want to become even bigger with a very aggressive recruitment drive.

Role

This company is looking for a Senior Geologist to join the exploration team in Aberdeen. One of the main focuses of the role is going to be to evaluate and rank the exploration prospects within their UK portfolio and to find, advise and recommend new prospects for future growth. You will ensure that prospect evaluations are of a high quality, you will participate in partner meetings, support data room evaluations, support drilling operations and be at the forefront of new exploration and appraisal opportunities.

Skills and Experience

The ideal Senior Geologist for this role will have at least 8 years of industry experience with some of this experience coming from working within the exploration or subsurface teams with some North Sea experience. You should have experience of identifying exploration and appraisal opportunities and have broad exposure to petrophysical and geophysical interpretation with characterisation experience. Candidates who possess sedimentology experience would be in a strong position with this company.
