Assistant Ecologist

Northern England (with travel)


The ideal candidate should:

  • Have as a minimum a degree in relevant subject such as Ecology
  • Preferably have 1-2 year's work experience (either voluntary or paid) in ecology
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be able to plan and organize their own work
  • Have good written and oral communication skills
  • Be flexible, adaptable and responsive to change
  • Be motivated and enthused member of the team/ ecologist
  • Hold a UK driving licence


The principal function of this position is to provide ecological support to the company in the work they undertake on various infrastructure projects. The role is for an assistant ecologist/ graduate ecologist who wishes to progress their career in the field.

Projects are likely to include major infrastructure schemes including road, rail and water related projects. The role requires contribution to the full life cycle of projects from options appraisals, through environmental assessment and detailed design stages to the construction phase;

This provides exciting opportunities to resolve complex site-based ecological issues through the implementation of mitigation and enhancements works
