The position is intended for a candidate with a strong experimental profile and an outstanding track record in internationally acknowledged research. DTU Aqua emphasizes interdisciplinary research that improves our understanding of coastal ecosystem dynamics. In this context, the full professorship will serve to strengthen the coupling between biogeochemistry, benthic ecology and fish ecology. DTU Aqua is involved in research, education, training and advice related to the aquatic environment and its resources. Within the area of marine sciences and fisheries research, DTU Aqua has an international research staff comprising of ca. 65 employees. The coastal ecology section comprises 8 scientists. DTU Aqua has as its objective to contribute to research, education and counselling in the context of a sustainable, effective, and quality oriented exploitation of the living aquatic resources. The work area thus covers all parts of the chain from 'water' to the dining table; i.e. from research and administration relevant to resources and ecosystems - to the innovative development of fish and shellfish products. DTU Aqua sustains a wide range of research disciplines and delivers research based education and counselling to authorities and industry. DTU Aqua is currently developing a new masters programme in aquatic science and technology. DTU Aqua has approx. 320 staff members - distributed at locations in Charlottenlund, Lyngby, Hirtshals and Silkeborg. For further information please see www.aqua.dtu.dk |
