ECO LOGICAL AUSTRALIA PTY LTD, is one of Australia's leading environmental assessment, strategic conservation planning and ecosystem management consultancies.

Due to our Company's continued and sustained growth we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Graduate Ecologist to join our team of dynamic and highly respected environmental professionals in our Mudgee Office.

This role will primarily involve providing ecological and environmental support and services to the Mudgee office with tasks including field work, contributing towards report writing, proposal preparation and other general activities as directed.

In this role you will:

  • Contribute to projects in the fields of ecological assessment, environmental impact assessment, vegetation management, biobanking, environmental monitoring, planning and conservation assessment.
  • Learn from the best in multidisciplinary project management and delivery
  • Gain on the job training and mentoring from experienced and respected environmental professionals
  • Work with other scientists across the company nationally and also with current and prospective clients, government and regulatory authorities.

Selection Criteria

The people we are seeking will have:

  • Experience in ecology and flora survey, ideally in the Mudgee /Central West Region of NSW;
  • Sound communication and scientific writing skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others;
  • Can do attitude and self-starter initiative with time management skills;
  • An awareness of relevant NSW and Commonwealth legislation;
  • Current driver's license; and
  • A sound working knowledge and practical experience using MS office products.

Desirable (but not essential) skills might include:

  • An honours degree or higher in Environmental Science or related discipline
  • An understanding of practical bush regeneration techniques;
  • GIS (ArcView) skills or demonstrated spatial data analysis and application in ecology.
