Ecologist

Ecowise require a qualified Ecologist to join our expanding team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling ecology reports for development sites, including those undergoing Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments. Therefore, knowledge of the ecology requirements within the Code would be an advantage.

Requirements:

• Holds a degree or equivalent qualification (eg N/SVQ level 5) in ecology or a related subject
• Is a practising ecologist, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience (within the last five years). Such experience must clearly demonstrate a practical understanding of factors affecting ecology in relation to the built environment; including acting in an advisory capacity to provide recommendations for ecological protection, enhancement and mitigation measures. Examples of relevant experience are: ecological impact assessments, Phase 1 and 2 habitat surveys, and habitat restoration.
• Is covered by a professional code of conduct and subject to peer review (eg full members of; The Association of Wildlife Trust Consultancies (AWTC), Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM))
• Diligent, motivated and able to work on own initiative
• Valid UK driving licence and prepared to travel
