Based within the School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development you will be an applied ecologist with research and teaching interests in ecosystem management, wildlife conservation and the agriculture-environment interface.

The School has considerable strengths in related areas such as Soil Science, Plant Science and Agriculture and has excellent laboratories and facilities. We are involved in research collaboration with other schools within the university through the Institute for Research on Environment and Sustainability. We are also involved in collaborative teaching in particular with the School of Biology.

You will be a research active team player who can contribute to teaching ecology, conservation and environmental management from an ecosystems perspective across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. With a background in ecology, preferably including quantitative plant ecology, habitat management and the design and application of field surveys you will have proven ability to carry out independent research and to attract research funding in these subject areas. You will be expected to collaborate with other members of the environmental science group, and other research groups in the School, on existing and future research projects.

You must have a PhD in a relevant discipline and postdoctoral research experience. Applications should include a detailed curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a detailed statement of research plans, demonstrating an awareness of the existing strengths in the School and how these will be enhanced by appointment of the applicant.
