Led by our recently appointed Vice-Chancellor, Sir David Bell, Reading's vision will be supported by 50 new academic posts. As part of this initiative to further our research excellence in areas of global critical importance, we seek to appoint a Professor/Reader in Ecosystem Ecology.

The successful candidate will build on an international research reputation and lead research at the interface of ecosystem ecology and global change and develop new integrating research initiatives to address questions about the structure of ecological communities and their role in ecosystem functions and responses to change.

You will have:

  • proven and continuing ability to publish in leading scientific journals and attract competitive research funding
  • experience of successful supervision of PhD students and post-doctoral researchers
  • a willingness to take a leadership role in research projects, and in the Department, School and University
  • presentation and communication skills required for teaching
