Senior Development Officer
Full time post, one year duration
Salary range £30,735 - £43,907 per annum
UNEP-WCMC is currently seeking an experienced, qualified and dynamic individual, who will help the Centre to identify and respond to new opportunities for supporting decision-making processes.
This enthusiastic individual will work in close collaboration with colleagues across the Centre to support them in developing new projects and programmes, and to facilitate the identification of resources necessary for their implementation. The successful applicant will have an excellent grasp of the international biodiversity conservation and sustainable use landscape, and a demonstrated ability to write clearly and succinctly on scientific issues for a lay audience. They will have worked with organizations in biodiversity, conservation and/or development sectors, and have significant experience of proposal preparation and presentation.
The salary is negotiable within the Centre's existing bands. UNEP-WCMC's mission is to evaluate and highlight the many values of biodiversity and put authoritative biodiversity knowledge at the centre of decision-making. Since its establishment in the 1970s, it has been at the forefront of the compilation, management, analysis and dissemination of global biodiversity information, and has an outstanding record of achievement.
