What is the role….

Successful applicants will be responsible for working alone on client sites to survey a building’s fabric and systems prior to modeling the building’s energy performance using industry standard software. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, property-focused energy consultancy and over time to develop their skills in the areas of low carbon building design concepts, sustainable design of major developments and also energy efficiency in property and industry.

Energy Auditors will be responsible for preparing site drawings for physical survey, under the oversight of technical property energy experts. They will then undertake physical surveys of buildings of all types and sizes. Following site survey they will be responsible for entering the complete data set into standard modeling software and producing the draft model for building energy performance.

As well as survey work for certification Graduate Energy Auditors will be responsible for undertaking more in depth energy audits in property and industry. Under the guidance of technical experts they will learn energy audit techniques and assume in creasing levels of responsibility for energy audit as their experience grows. This will include client meetings, site investigation and report writing.

All consultants are responsible for developing new business. As their career progresses staff in the energy audit and management business will be expected to sell work for both themselves and others to perform.

Who Should Apply….

Candidates should be able to demonstrate both technical and interpersonal skills.

A good engineering degree in building systems or a similar building or energy engineering discipline will be beneficial.

On an interpersonal level candidates must be able to work alone, with unfamiliar clients and in new surroundings. Candidates should be able to “think on their feet”.
