Assistant Professor in Environmental Science



American University invites applications for a tenure-track position in climate science beginning in Fall 2011. We are interested in candidates who use climate models to understand aquatic ecosystem processes; those using climate models to understand terrestrial ecosystems are also encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a PhD with preference given to those with post-doctoral experience and external funding. We welcome applications from individuals already in tenure-track positions. Successful candidate will be expected to have or develop a competitive research program and contribute to teaching, advising, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Review of applications will begin October 15, 2010. Candidates should send an application letter outlining research interests, teaching philosophy, and experience; a CV; and up to three sample publications. Three letters of reference should be sent directly from the referees
