Lecturer in Geography and Environmental Planning
Lecturer Grade B: £31,818 - £40,789 p.a.
As part of the development of Geography we invite applications for these two new posts within the School. Situated between the Snowdonia National Park and the Menai Straits, and in an area that is rich in industrial and cultural heritage, Bangor's location offers unique opportunities for teaching and research. The School has good links with local authorities, government agencies and other relevant organisations in the UK and overseas.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and will either hold a current, recognised professional qualification in planning or be willing to gain this with suitable guidance and support.
The appointee will be required to contribute in one or more of the following areas; land survey methodology and data capture, planning systems (at regional, national and/or European level), planning regulation and legislation, transport planning, planning for regeneration and sustainability. S/he will also be expected to play a key role in the development of accredited programme[s] in planning.
Interviews will be held on Friday 4th of July 2008.
The successful candidates are expected to be in post on or before 1st October 2008.
