Cawthron Institute is seeking an Ecotoxicology Technician to join our Environmental Technologies team that is developing and implementing new techniques to monitor aquatic health and biosecurity.
A BSc in ecotoxicology, chemistry or related science discipline, or substantial lab experience is required.
The position requires familiarity with physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology or biotechnology laboratory techniques.
While one-two years post graduate lab-based experience would be an advantage this is not essential as full training will be provided.
This position involves both field and laboratory work. It requires strong general laboratory skills, attention to detail and record keeping, the ability to use field equipment and interpret and summarise data.
We are looking for an adaptable, self managed person who has great communication skills and works well in a team.
This is a full-time permanent role based in Nelson and an opportunity to join New Zealand's largest independent research organisation.
