£26,871-£33,510 or £31,140-£41,406 per annum



Courses in Environmental Science and Geography have been offered by Coventry University for more than 30 years. We currently have over 200 students enrolled on Undergraduate and Masters level courses in these areas. Since 1990, we have offered postgraduate courses in Environmental Management and we have recently broadened our portfolio of undergraduate programmes to include climate change and sustainability. As a result of growing demand for our courses, we are seeking to hire an academic/practitioner in the field of environmental technology/waste management. You will be encouraged to help shape future teaching and applied research programmes in these areas.

We are looking for qualifications, experience and expertise that should include the following:

Masters degree in an appropriate subject and/or a good Honours degree, together with appropriate professional qualification and membership.

Experience as a practitioner, consultant or in an enforcement role in areas such as waste management and/or effluent treatment, with, for example, land-fill or incineration technology and assessment, air or water emissions. Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks, would also be advantageous.

Recent curriculum development and teaching experience at a higher education level and/or evidence of high quality presentation skills, together with evidence of coaching or teaching other professionals

Evidence of academic research, professional practice and/or relevant consultancy

We welcome applications from both academics and practitioner/professionals. Ideally, we are seeking an individual who has practical expertise and also the ability to critically analyse issues relevant to the fields of environmental technology/waste management, both with a view to effectively facilitating learning by a wide range of students and to undertaking income-generating applied research. You will be committed to delivering a high quality service to students and external clients, with a high level of proficiency in ICT. Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills are also essential requirements for this role.
