There are currently around 284,000 properties at risk of flooding in the South East of England. As a member of our Flood Forecasting team, you'll be dedicated to helping us protect them. The complexity of our rivers and coast make flood forecasting particularly challenging. But that's exactly why you'll love your work. You'll support the development, maintenance and assessment of our flood forecasting service, and your work will range from the management of duty rosters and simple correlation analysis, to training duty officers and supporting complex hydrodynamic models. In addition, you'll become a key duty officer, helping to deliver a 24/7 operational forecasting service.

Educated to degree level in a geography, environmental science, or related discipline, you'll help produce timely forecast for the coast and rivers of Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. You also be experienced in assessing complex information, as well as Flood and Coastal Risk Management, flood hydrology and river modelling.
