International Director of ResearchReports to: Executive Director, Earthwatch Institute (Europe) Location: Oxford, UK or Maynard, MA, USA Earthwatch is looking for a respected field research scientist who has considerable strategic and practical experience addressing critical environmental issues and has worked closely with a wide range of NGOs and local stakeholders in many parts of the world. This person will be responsible for shaping and delivering the international research program for the organization in line with its ten year goals and vision. The IDR is tasked to ensure the Earthwatch maintains and develops a world class multidisciplinary research program that informs key environmental and social agendas of the next decade as part of the Earthwatch 'citizen science and engagement' mission. Earthwatch is looking for a scientist who can shape a first class and compelling research program, work with other leading scientists to develop projects that generate novel and important findings and have impacts on management and conservation efforts locally, regionally and globally. The IDR must be a natural and inspirational leader, who is comfortable speaking authoritatively about the environment and sustainable development on the world stage.
