Environmental Manager / Senior Environmental Engineer
( Western Expatriate)

Main Purpose of Job

To manage the development of solutions to environmental problems. To be actively involved in water and air pollution control, recycling, waste disposal, and public health issues in accordance with the Company & Regulatory Policies.

Job Objectives

• To establish Environmental Management System based on ISO 1400:2004. Should have proven experience establishing such a system in construction / contracting field.
• To have the competency to conduct environmental impact assessments and prepare construction/operation environmental management plans for the projects.
• To have auditing experience based on ISO 14001 standards.
• To conduct hazardous-waste management studies to evaluate the significance of the hazard, advise on treatment and containment, and develop plans to prevent mishaps.
• To conduct research on the environmental impact of proposed construction projects, analyze scientific data, and perform quality-control checks.
• To act as a resource for management and staff; provide technical support within area of responsibility.
• To effectively communicate relevant issues to the other technical staff, managers and regulatory authorities.

Safety and Quality Responsibilities

• Maintain standards of safety and comply with Company's Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements.
• Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
• Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements

Education, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering (preferably Environmental)
• Project Management
• Computer Skills
• Use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions
• Read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
• Communicate information and ideas clearly and honestly in writing; read and understand information presented in writing
• (a) 12 to 15 years of related work experience for Senior Environmental Engineer.
• (b) 15+ years of related work experience for Environmental Manager.

Experience should be in environmental field especially in water and waste water treatment, oil & gas, commercial buildings and industrial projects.
