Department of Geography and Regional Studies (GRS)Assistant Professor in Environmental HealthThe Department of Geography and Regional Studies at the University of Miami invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Environmental Health. Interested candidates should possess research interests in one or more of the following areas: Environmental determinants of health and disease, disease ecologies, Land-Use and Land-Cover Change, landscape epidemiology, emerging and neglected tropical diseases, spatial dimensions of health disparities and chronic disease, and health risks and security in vulnerable populations. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an externally funded research program and to demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The position will strengthen global health research in the College of Arts and Sciences and will contribute to interdisciplinary programs and research groups including the Program in International Studies, The Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy, the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Studies, and the Miller School of Medicine. He/she will be expected to teach introductory, upper-level and graduate courses in Geography, International Studies, and Global Health as well as contribute to our growing GIS Certificate Programs.
